Support Facilities include In-campus electric sub-station with back-up generators, two RO plants with 2 storage sumps with a capacity of 5 lakh litres each, an in-house sewage Treatment Plant, a manifold plant to supply oxygen for OTs, ICUs and Wards, and centralized air condition with chiller plants.
The hospital block houses all major departments including General medicine, General surgery, Obstetrics and gynaecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Casualty and emergency, Medical and Surgical ICUs, Operation theatres, Dialysis units, ENT, Ophthalmology, Central laboratory, Radio-diagnosis, 24 hours pharmacy and Blood bank.
We are expanding our services to include state-of-the-art facilities in our corporate wing, includingCath-lab for cardiology, Neurosurgery department, MRI, ERCP, Pediatric ICU and neonatal ICU.
Velammal medical college, affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, has an annual intake capacity of 150 students. Presently the second batch of students are pursuing their medical studies in our institute. Our faculty include the best and highly experienced and qualified teachers from all over the country. Our aim is to inculcate in each one of them, the love for mankind, the need to empathise with patients’ sufferings and to view the easing of their hardships as their primary goal in life. In addition to their academic learning, we also aim to promote their extra-curricular activities and sports in them, because we believe a healthy mind can reside only in a healthy body.
